DESCRIPTION:Grace Chapel Pickwick \nSunday\, October 3\, 2021\n10:00 am @ Freddy T’s \nTHIS COMING SUNDAY WE WILL BE SERVING COMMUNION.\n\nIn many churches around the world\, this is called WORLD WIDE COMMUNION SUNDAY.  It has been a set Sunday for many years when all Christians\, no matter your denomination or nation\,\ncan celebrate the truth that Jesus is Lord and Savior.\n\nThe verse I will use to prepare us for taking Communion is\,\nof course\, from I Peter.\n“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree\, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness.”\n(I Peter 2:24)\n\nA RESTART FOR SMALL GROUPS\n\nAlso during the service this coming Sunday we will hear from leaders of small groups at Grace Chapel.  Some of the small groups have been going on all along\, some of them are restarts\, and some of them are new.\n\nWe will be encouraging everyone at Grace Chapel to be in a small group.  We need to “one another” more.  You know…”love one another”…”pray for one another”…”forgive one another”…”bear one another’s burdens”…”encourage one another”…etc.  Getting together on Sunday doesn’t do that.  This is one of the primary purposes of our small groups.

DESCRIPTION:Communion \nPastor Don Elliott \nWorship Leader David Duncan \nWe are meeting in the old Fred’s building at 10:00am in Pickwick. \nSocial distancing is encouraged and hand sanitizing stations are set up. \nThe service will still be streamed on Facebook LIVE every Sunday. \nWe all have questions about the safety of taking communion at this time of high contagion with covid 19.  Here are the special measures Grace Chapel will be taking in serving Communion: \nØ For those who come into the Fred’s building for the service\, you will be asked to pick up a communion packet as you enter into the room.  The communion packets will be placed on a table for you easily to pick up and keep with you until the time to take communion.  Each packet contains the bread and the juice as the elements for the sacrament.  Instructions for opening the packet will be given by Pastor Don when it is time to take communion.  After the service everyone is asked to take their empty packets and put them in the trash can at the entrance. \n Ø For those sitting outside the Fred’s building in their chairs or in their cars\, communion packets will be brought to them. \n Ø For those watching the service on the Grace Chapel Facebook page\, you are invited to take communion with us.  But you must supply your own bread and grape juice. \nThese special measures are given for this special time.  But the ordinary\, biblical measures must not be forgotten.  Those are to prepare our hearts for taking communion\, and we do that by examining ourselves\, repenting of our sin\, and believing once again that Jesus died for us. \n  \n“Therefore\, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.  A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.  For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.”  (I Corinthians 11:27 – 30) \n
