SUMMARY:Sunday Worship & the Word
DESCRIPTION:Pastor Don Elliott \nWorship Leader David Duncan \n10:00 every Sunday at Freddy T’s Restaurant in Pickwick \nNEAR THE CROSS \nThe cross is so central to our faith as Christians.  It is a universal symbol of the heart of our faith knowing that it was upon the cross that Jesus died for our sins. \nBut as we go back to that original cross\, there are many stories that surrounded it…and not all of them are good stories. \nIn the weeks ahead I will be preaching on the gospel accounts of different people who were “near the cross.”  This week it will be Pontius Pilate. \nThe passage we will study is Matthew 27:11 – 26. \nIt might be more accurate to say that Pontius Pilate “caused” the cross rather than he was “near” the cross. \nThe Apostles’ Creed\, that has been used by Christians since the 3rd century in worship and instruction\, affirms that Jesus “…suffered under Pontius Pilate\, was crucified\, dead and buried.”  Why has it been so important for Christians for centuries to remember that Jesus “suffered under Pontius Pilate”? \nThis is what we will discover this coming Sunday\, and we will find out that there is something about Pontius Pilate that can make a difference in our walk with Christ. \nSee you Sunday. \n

SUMMARY:Sunday Worship & the Word
DESCRIPTION:Pastor Don Elliott \nWorship Leader David Duncan \n10:00 am at Freddy T’s Restaurant \nThis week’s message: \nLOVE…IS IT GOOD OR BAD?? \nOf course\, love is good\, right?  But is it an absolute good?  In other words\, in the name of love can something be bad or even evil? \nI am afraid so\, and Paul writes in I Corinthians 13…”love does not rejoice in evil.”  Why did he have to write that?  Because it is not obvious.  Love is an entrance way to many things and it can even be an entrance way to wickedness. \nDo you believe it?  Well\, just think about the things you have said in your life that you love.  Have they all been good?  Have they all been beneficial to you and others?  Have some of them even been evil?  Because you loved something\, have you done something that disobeyed the Lord and hurt other people? \nCome on\, let’s admit it.  Yes\, we have. \nBut real\, biblical\, godly love “does not rejoice in evil.”  It “rejoices in the truth.” \nWe can use love for our own human\, even selfish\, reasons and in so doing we can get off the heaven bound track.  The corrective given by Paul for godly love is “truth.”  And love has a distinctive\, even passionate\, attitude toward that truth.  It is “rejoicing.”  This truth brings us joy.  This truth brings us pleasure.  We can rejoice in this truth and never regret anything done in that truth. \nThis Sunday we will examine this aspect of love a little more deeply\, especially to see what truth Paul is talking about. \nSo…love…is it good or bad?  It depends.  Come to Grace Chapel this Sunday and you will discover the answer.

SUMMARY:"Believe for It" Women's Conference
DESCRIPTION:Ladies\, we believe there’s a time of freedom and refreshing for you at our next women’s conference on Saturday\, March 5\, 2022. We will take this conference on the road to the Living Free Ministries building at 2024 Highway 72 E\, Corinth\, MS 38834. \n  \nSince we are living by the Spirit\, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. (Galatians 5:25) We’ll start at 5:25 p.m. with time together and a light meal catered by Freddy T’s of Pickwick. \nGrace CHAPEL will host this time set apart for you to go deeper into God’s Word. The Station Church’s Moranda Kennedy will deliver an on-time\, passionate message to ignite our faith. Kayla Felker will paint an inspired work of art as Moranda speaks God’s truth over us. We will press in deeper as we worship Jesus through melody and song with the GC Praise Band. \nWe’re all believing for something. Things change during the seasons and circumstances of life. For women\, the balancing act of responsibilities can be entirely draining. One constant we desperately need is to keep God at the center. We believe the Lord brings balance\, and it can look different for everyone. But\, we must pursue it. \nWe know one encounter with the Living God changes everything. What are you believing God for? Come discover the more of God\, and join other women who also Believe For It. \n💎Saturday\, March 5\, 2022 @ 5:25 p.m. \n💎Living Free Ministries building in Corinth\, MS \n💎There is no charge to attend this event. Simply register by texting GCWC22 to 55498

SUMMARY:Sunday Worship & the Word
DESCRIPTION:LOVE IS NOT PROUD\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoes this have to be said?  We all know this\, right?\nLove is primarily about someone else.\nAnd pride only has to do with oneself?\nSo love and pride can’t go together!\n\nBut it is not as simple as it seems.\nJust read the many different translations\nand paraphrases of the verses we will jump into Sunday:\n\n…love does not boast\, it is not proud… (NIV)\n\n…love vaunteth not itself\, is not puffed up… (KJV)\n\n…love is neither anxious to impress nor does it cherish inflated ideas of its own importance…(Phillips)\n\n…love is not boastful or vainglorious\, does not display itself haughtily.  (Amplified)\n\n…Love doesn’t strut.  Doesn’t have a swelled head  (The Message)\n\nWhat I find in these different insights into “love is not proud” is that I often combine “pride” and “love.”  In other words\, all of us talk about love a lot\, but often the kind of love we really want is for us…not for others.\n\nNow this hits hard\, doesn’t it?  Who among us doesn’t want love?\nSure\, we want to love\, but at the same time we want to be loved.\nLove means a lot to us.\n\nBut how often does what we want in love dominate our love?\n\nWell\, that is what we will dive into this week.\n\nOh\, BTW\, are you proud of your love?
