DESCRIPTION:Pastor Don Elliott \n10:00 am \nFreddy T’s Restaurant \nBUILDING ON THE RIGHT FOUNDATION\n\nWell\, we will be looking at the last passage from the Sermon on the Mount this week. I believe it is the conclusion that Jesus wanted everyone (including us) to hear and take to heart. And the first message is this:  WE ARE ALL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. We are all building our lives.  Day by day…Sabbath by Sabbath…year by year…decade by decade. This includes constructive building as we add onto our lives.  This also includes destructive building as we demolish the old to build the new. Each one of our buildings will look different as we construct\, demolish\, remodel\, upgrade\, display\, decorate\, and change our structures that is for everyone to see.\n\nBut Jesus’ main message is this: WE MUST BUILD ON THE RIGHT FOUNDATION. The foundation of our lives being built is hidden from sight.  It is not obvious to the observer.  How it looks is not the most important.  How it stays firm in the storm is the most important. Every building has a foundation\, the only issue is if it is the right…the best…the strongest…the longer lasting foundation.\n\nThis last message from Jesus’ sermon calls us to this right foundation.  Come to worship Sunday and let’s think together about our foundations. Some of our foundations are solid and strong even though the storms of life are testing it all the time. Some of our foundations are weak and insecure. The building of our lives we are constructing looks good and maybe even impressive\, but all it takes is one storm…one tragedy…one disease…one surgery…one set back…one sin…and it could all come crashing down.\n\nJesus calls us to build our lives by trusting him\, repenting of our sin\, obeying him\, making disciples and giving ourselves away. But those things can only be done in a lasting way with the right foundation.\n\nAnd we know what (or who) that is\, don’t we? Maybe…maybe not.

This is not the time for making a commitment. It is the time to begin asking the Lord\, “Are you calling me to go to Mexico?” The Lord will lead as each one examines his or her own heart\, evaluates one’s talents and gifts\, prepares for being a servant\, and as each one makes plans according to where the Lord has brought them. \nSo\, if you want to know what all is involved in being a part of the next mission team going to Mexico\, stay after worship on October 23.
