I believe it is the conclusion that Jesus wanted everyone (including us) to hear and take to heart. And the first message is this:  WE ARE ALL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. We are all building our lives.  Day by day…Sabbath by Sabbath…year by year…decade by decade. This includes constructive building as we add onto our lives.  This also includes destructive building as we demolish the old to build the new. Each one of our buildings will look different as we construct\, demolish\, remodel\, upgrade\, display\, decorate\, and change our structures that is for everyone to see.\n\nBut Jesus’ main message is this: WE MUST BUILD ON THE RIGHT FOUNDATION. The foundation of our lives being built is hidden from sight.  It is not obvious to the observer.  How it looks is not the most important.  How it stays firm in the storm is the most important. Every building has a foundation\, the only issue is if it is the right…the best…the strongest…the longer lasting foundation.\n\nThis last message from Jesus’ sermon calls us to this right foundation.  Come to worship Sunday and let’s think together about our foundations. Some of our foundations are solid and strong even though the storms of life are testing it all the time. Some of our foundations are weak and insecure. The building of our lives we are constructing looks good and maybe even impressive\, but all it takes is one storm…one tragedy…one disease…one surgery…one set back…one sin…and it could all come crashing down.\n\nJesus calls us to build our lives by trusting him\, repenting of our sin\, obeying him\, making disciples and giving ourselves away. But those things can only be done in a lasting way with the right foundation.\n\nAnd we know what (or who) that is\, don’t we? Maybe…maybe not.

It is the time to begin asking the Lord\, “Are you calling me to go to Mexico?” The Lord will lead as each one examines his or her own heart\, evaluates one’s talents and gifts\, prepares for being a servant\, and as each one makes plans according to where the Lord has brought them. \nSo\, if you want to know what all is involved in being a part of the next mission team going to Mexico\, stay after worship on October 23.

DESCRIPTION:A NEW MINISTRY AT GRACE CHAPEL\n\nA new ministry at Grace Chapel will be introduced this coming Sunday during worship.  It is called the HOPE ministry.\nHOPE stands for Helping Others Pray through Emergencies.\nThe HOPE ministry will focus on helping those who contact Grace Chapel with an emergency need.  We have had a taste of this ministry since Grace Chapel got started\, but in the last two months there has been a definite increase of needy people seeking help from Grace Chapel.\n\nThe HOPE ministry will begin with giving tangible help to the needy to pay for emergency bills they might have.  But it will not stop there.\n\nThe HOPE Team has been put together to follow up those we help with prayer and a personal contact. This HOPE Team will be introduced to the church this Sunday.\n\nBut right now\, we all can ask the Lord to open our eyes and hearts to those in the most need around us and make a new commitment to be the Lord’s hands and feet showing His gospel grace and loving Lordship.\n\n___________________________________________________ \nO YE OF LITTLE FAITH\n\nI don’t know about you\, but Jesus calling his disciples “O ye of little faith” has not always set well with me.  It sounds like name calling or manipulation or even judgment.\n\nWell this phrase\, “O ye of little faith\,” occurs in the Sermon on the Mount and three other places in the gospel accounts and we are going to get to the bottom of it.  What in the world is Jesus doing here?\nHow did it affect the disciples?  What does it mean to you…\nO ye of little faith?\n\nI have personally been challenged by this.  I wonder if you will be.

DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS THE MAIN PROBLEM IN THE WORLD?\n\nWe probably all have an answer that comes quickly to mind when we think of this question…terrorism\, communism\, greed\, politics and politicians\, war\, poverty\, climate change\, etc.  For Christians we would say such things as sin\, the devil\, and maybe we would say the church that is no longer the church.\n\nWell\, this Sunday I am going to look at a command from Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and come to the conclusion that the main problem in the world is false teachers\, false prophets\, false leaders.  The main problem in the world and in the church is leadership that does not lead with truth.  They lead with lies.\n\nSo\, Jesus commands us “beware of false prophets.”\n\nI know\, I know…he is addressing the spiritual problem in Israel that had always struggled with false prophets.  But when Jesus came as the one true prophet\, false prophets did not stop.  They plagued the earliest church evidenced by the epistles in the New Testament.  They continued to pollute the church throughout its history.\nAnd false prophets and false teachers might be the main problem in the church today.\n\nBut it is not much of a jump to say that false prophets are not just in the church but in the world as well.  False\, lying\, deceiving\, greedy\, violent\, shameful\, selfish leaders have marred our world from the beginning.  Whether kings or queens\, presidents or governors\, doctors or lawyers\, teachers or professors…there appears to be a downward trajectory in character\, and it is rare to have a godly leader that stands for truth rather than themselves.\n\nSo come to Grace Chapel this Sunday and we will talk about it starting with Matthew 7:15 – 20.\n\nSee ya Sunday.
