HOW WOULD YOU SUMMARIZE THE ENTIRE BIBLE?
We are thinking together about the Bible for a few weeks. Last week we looked at GOD AND THE BIBLE and saw that the Bible is God’s revelation to us. His word has been given to us so that we might know who God is and what He has done for us. This word from God is needed because “his thoughts are not our thoughts…his ways are not our ways.” If God does not reveal Himself by His Word, we are left in the darkness of spiritual ignorance.
This week we will look at JESUS AND THE BIBLE. If GOD AND THE BIBLE teaches us about revelation, then JESUS AND THE BIBLE teaches us about redemption. Revelation gives us the source of the Bible. Redemption gives us the message of the Bible.
And this is how you can summarize the entire Bible. It is about Jesus. Jesus is not just the story of the New Testament. He is the story of the Old Testament as well.
So the whole Bible is about how God saves His people. From Genesis to Revelation by symbols and stories, by prophecies and parables, by miracles and wonders, by prophets and apostles, by Jews and Gentiles…the promise and the fulfillment of the promise of a Savior to come is the message of the Scripture.
Now it must be asked again, where is the Bible in your life?
